Profile
Sæwig 2’s small estate was at Cholderton, on the River Bourne and in the east of Wiltshire by the shire boundary with Hampshire. It was one of three small estates at Cholderton TRE that had passed to Ernulf de Hesdin (Ernulf 1) by 1086 (a fourth, and largest, estate went to a different successor), but there is nothing in the DB entries or the names of the other TRE holders to suggest that they were related to Sæwig 2.Cholderton is the only estate recorded in DB as being held TRE by someone called Sæwig.
