Boia 41

Summary

Boia 40 is listed first among the English jurors for Odsey Hundred in Hertfordshire in IE (fo 39), where he is described as ‘the bishop’s man’.  The bishop referred to could be Odo, bishop of Bayeux (Odo 3), because the first of the French jurors for the hundred is explicitly described as his man, but the bishops of Winchester, Chester and London also held estates in Odsey Hundred in 1086.  It is therefore not possible to determine with which of these bishops or estates Boia 40 was associated.
