Leomær 10 was one of three subtenants of Richard fitzGilbert (Richard 5) at Bletchingly in south-east Surrey in 1086.
Profile
Leomær 10 was one of three subtenants of Richard fitzGilbert (Richard 5) at Bletchingly in south-east Surrey in 1086, Leomær’s share of the manor being then assessed at 2 hides; if the TRW value of 73s 4d assigned to the combined estates of the three subtenants were divided in proportion to the size of their estates, then Leomær’s estate would have a value of 24s 5⅓d. There is no reason to connect Leomær 10 with any of the three men who held the component manors of Bletchingly TRE nor with his namesake Leomær 4, who was the TRE holder of Mitcham (about 12 miles from Bletchingly).
