Profile
Sweting 11 shared with Robert a tiny holding of 1½ virgates at Sutton in east Bedfordshire in 1086; they were among several subtenants who held lands there from Countess Judith (Judith 3) (Page 1908: 246-7). Their little holding had four oxen, enough for half a plough-team, but no plough; there was also a bordar and his household who may have provided the main workforce, although on such a small estate Sweting and Robert may have been directly involved as well. There is no obvious reason to consider Sweting 11 in connection either with the TRE holder, a man of the abbot of St Albans, or with any other person TRW.Bibliography
