Name

Leodmann
Leodmann 2

Summary

Leodmann 3 was among the English jurors of the double-hundred of Ely in 1086.

Profile

Leodmann 3 is named as a priest in IE (p.100, as Leodmannus pbr; var. Lemmannus) among the English jurors of the double-hundred of Ely in 1086, although he is not named in any of the DB entries relating to estates there and it is not possible to determine the church with which he was presumably associated. Although the main IE form of his name could formally be interpreted as the Continental Germanic name Liudman, his presence among the English jurors renders the Old English equivalent Leodmann more likely.
